Troop Upcoming Events and Announcements

Deadline for Summer camp is TODAY (5/30/16)

Parents and scouts: This email is just a reminder that the summer camp signup for making the $280.00 registration deadline is up on 5/31.  I will need to know of your intentions of getting signed up at this price by today [5/30/2016] so I can get it turned in on Tuesday.  Please let me know if you have NOT signed up and still wish to do so.  Those new scouts that just came into the troop this spring can still get to camp for just $260.00; of which $100.00 will be picked up by the troop. If you are wanting to get your son to summer camp and are having difficulties financially to make this happen please let me know.  The troop has some funds set aside to help out those who might need assistance to get to camp.  If you send me an e-mail I will get back with you on the details.  We will have a meeting on June 7 specifically talking about this year’s summer camp.  I will go over details for summer camp at that time so plan on being there.  I am also ...

placing Flags at Greenlawn Cemetary

Parents and Scouts: I wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of you that were able to help spread mulch around the church last night.  It really looks great and the church is very appreciative of us doing this work. Now – on to more community service opportunities…. In honor of Memorial Day, we are going to once again help place flags on the graves of our Country’s Veterans.  We have in the past several years assisted at Greenlawn Cemetery with honoring the Civil War Veterans.  We will be meeting at the First Presbyterian Church this Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. As a group travel to Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus.  We will be in Class A uniform and help at the Section M of the cemetery to complete this task. [see map] The work will conclude with a short ceremony. We should be done just after noon. [usually they have a small lunch for us].  Bring the necessary gear for the weather. We only had a few sign up last night.  I would like to have 20 or so able to ...

Mulch work at the Church tonight!

Don’t forget – we need your HELP TONIGHT!!!! Parents and Scouts: This Tuesday night at our scout meeting we will be doing a service project. The church will have mulch for us to spread. I need all hands for this activity. We will meet in CLASS B uniform for this project. [No CLASS A’s] There will be 240 bags of mulch to spread around the church property. This will be for community service time. If you need time for your advancement this will count. [If no service hours needed – then come anyway! – I need you.] If you have a wheel barrow or rake bring it –with your name on it. Gloves are a good option. The mulch is hardwood; not the absolute black so it won’t be as messy. See you then! Sincerely, Kirk Bohanan Scoutmaster Troop 136
