Winter Court of Honor and Feb Camp

Parents and Scouts:

Just a reminder that next Tuesday, January 29th, we will hold our Winter Court of Honor for the troop.  All families are encouraged to attend.  We will recognizing all advancement and awards since September.  And don’t forget those Pies in the Facefor the popcorn prize winners that will also be going on at the end of the night – unless you take “The DEAL”!!!

For this Court of Honor, we will have a Pot Luck Dinner.  Each Patrol is to bring food as described below.  WE WILL START AT 6:30 PM on this night with our dinner first!

Blue Blazes and Black Hawks are to bring a Main Dish and a Side dish
Flaming Aces and Flaming Cobras are to bring main Dish and dessert.

The Troop will provide drinks and table service.

Our night will also include the annual Friends of Scouting presentation by a representative from our district.  The FOS  is the fundraising campaign that is held for our local council, and gives families an opportunity to assist with this very important program of scouting.  Our council depends on the funding from our families to help make the BSA program better in our council.  I encourage you to come and listen to the ways that they have been able to use this funding in recent years and then participate as you feel you can.  No amount is too little [or too much!]. As in the past, I am sure that they will have incentives for different giving levels.  They will expand on this during the presentation.  Be sure not to miss this event!

Attached in an email I sent is the permission slip for the February Campout which will be Feb 8-10.[Burrrrr!]  We will leave on Friday night and stay at Camp Lazarus in Delaware Ohio.  This form will need to be turned in by the 5th of February at the latest.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Sincerely,

Kirk Bohanan
Scoutmaster Troop 136

Tyler's Eagle Project

Parents and Scouts: Please see the attached note from Tyler Straight – He needs your assistance on his Eagle Project.  Please assist if you can. Thanks. Kirk Bohanan Scoutmaster Troop 136     Hey everyone! Tyler Straight here.    First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who attended my Eagle Scout Project this weekend. While we were unable to work Sunday, the crew that arrived on Saturday did a magnificent job. We painted nearly everything we needed to, and we removed an impressive amount of gravel in our small four hour window. Everyone worked hard and were respectful, and I couldn't ask for any more than that.    To continue this good work, I will again be holding two work days this weekend, Saturday, July 19th from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. behind Grove City High School at 4665 Hoover Rd. I similar equipment to last time, such as wheelbarrows, shovels, and rakes. I will not, however, need any paint...
