Troop Upcoming Events and Announcements

Upcoming activities

Parents and scouts:

Here are a few reminders of upcoming activities.  The September newsletter will be sent out later this week.

1. Our trip to South Bass Island is getting set up.  We have about 20 spots left.  I will need parents to also go on this event for transportation.  If you wish to go, [parents or scouts] please get your permission slip[s] turned in tomorrow night if possible.  [click here]  The cost is a good deal.  The normal cost for this trip would be around $80.00, but the troop committee has subsidized this by only charging $50.00 per person. We will get all meals, tickets for local attractions and an event T-Shirt as well.   We will leave on Friday, September 11 at 1:00 pm and return on Sunday September 13 in early afternoon.  We only need to bring personal gear on this outing. All food will be provided by the camporee.  Please sign up tomorrow!

2. I am looking for help running our Dog Wash event on September 13th at the new Dog Park; It is the “Bark at Breck” event that will be held on September 13 from 1-4 pm.  We won’t be back from South Bass Island yet; and if you can’t go but still would like to work on this fund-raiser let me know – SOON! [like tomorrow night]

3. I will have sample hoodies for trying on tomorrow night for our new Troop Hoodies we are going to get for the scouts [troop provided].  Please plan to get your size turned into your patrol leader so we can get these  - target by 9/8/15 for this to happen.

4.  I will have sign up sheets at our meeting for those to help with the Hog Roast and Tag Sale -  Please plan to get signed up to assist!

5. Don’t forget to get those items saved for the Tag sale!  If you have any questions regarding the Sale please ask Kathy Bohanan at Bohanan.kathy@gmail.com

Thanks – that is all for now.

Tyler's Eagle Project

Parents and Scouts: Please see the attached note from Tyler Straight – He needs your assistance on his Eagle Project.  Please assist if you can. Thanks. Kirk Bohanan Scoutmaster Troop 136     Hey everyone! Tyler Straight here.    First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who attended my Eagle Scout Project this weekend. While we were unable to work Sunday, the crew that arrived on Saturday did a magnificent job. We painted nearly everything we needed to, and we removed an impressive amount of gravel in our small four hour window. Everyone worked hard and were respectful, and I couldn't ask for any more than that.    To continue this good work, I will again be holding two work days this weekend, Saturday, July 19th from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. behind Grove City High School at 4665 Hoover Rd. I similar equipment to last time, such as wheelbarrows, shovels, and rakes. I will not, however, need any paint...
