Troop Upcoming Events and Announcements

Vertical Adventures reminder

To those going this weekend to Vertical Adventures – DO NOT FORGET….. You must go on line and complete the ONLINE WAIVER. [ http://www.verticaladventuresohio.com/gyminfo/waiver/ ].   Fill it out - Print it and Bring it with you Saturday.  If you don’t have one completed I can’t take you to climb.  If you have already given this to the troop I will have it for you. Campout this weekend

For those going on the campout this weekend: I noticed that the newsletter called us leaving at 6:30 but the permission slip stated 7:00 PM.  With that discrepancy I will hold off from leaving until 7PM [unless all are there earlier].  Sorry for the confusion.  We will camp in the Lake Hope State Park on Friday night and then hit the Zaleski Trail on Saturday morning. Just a few notes about this trip.       1.     We will be camping in tents (or a shelter you build). If you need a troop tent you should have already let me know that you need one.  Tarps too.  If you still need one PLEASE let me know asap.  If you have your own tent / tarp you may bring it on this outing. Plan accordingly.       2.     You need to bring your own food and gear to cook with.  If you need a stove then plan accordingly.  You can team up with others; just make sure to plan this out.  Your lunch should be a ...

Tuesday night Popcorn is due and is elections!

Parents and Scouts: Happy Halloween! I hope all are safe tonight on the ghoulish quest for treats….  Don’t forget tomorrow night we MUST get all popcorn forms and unsold popcorn product back to the troop.  Plan to get this turned into us, and don’t forget to decide on your prize if you have sold enough to earn one.  We will fill any orders possible and then other will be filled later.  See the info below about popcorn as well from Mr. Liggett….  AND – Tomorrow night is our Troop elections for SPL and PL’s  Please be present and make your vote count!  If you are interested in running for a position – WE NEED YOU!  Help us continue to represent the troop as best we can!  We will give you a chance to talk to the troop and explain how you are going to be that "guy" for the troop. creek Sweep, Popcorn, Eagle COH, and service project

Parents and Scouts: I wanted to let all know that we had a great turnout for the Creek Sweep and all that were there  - Job Well Done.  Thanks to all that were in attendance.  It really does make a difference.  Again – THANK YOU to ALL that Helped! On to more news---- The popcorn sale is still going on and we hope our scouts are working to make sales.  This week at the meeting we have a contest to see who has sold the most “Muddpuddles”  Bring your order form to show your sales to me.  We have a Gift card for the winner.  If you need popcorn we can assist you tomorrow night at the church from 7:00-7:30 PM.  Wade Lunsford and Eric Liggett will be there to check out popcorn. On Tuesday it may be difficult to get this done, so please try to attend on Monday if you need any popcorn products.  Sale will end on November 1.  Get out there and well!!!! We also have an Eagle Scout Court of Honor next Saturday at 2 PM at the First Presbyteria...

Court of Honor and bring back your equipment

Parents and Scouts: Please note that this coming Tuesday we will hold our Fall Court of Honor.  This will be the ceremony that we recognize all advancement that has been earned since June.  Please plan to attend.  I really like to have all scouts and parents come and be a part of this event.  Your awards will there that you have earned;  so come and be recognized. I will also ask that you look around the house to see if any troop tents or tarps are in your possession.  We have been lacking on getting this gear back and I need your help making this happen.  If you son brings home this gear after an outing the expectation is to have it back to the troop meeting by the following Tuesday.  It is your son’s responsibility to make this happen.  If they have any concerns with the gear they are to let our Troop Quartermaster know of the issue when they turn it in.  That way we have time to get it fixed and ready for the next outing. Need help for the Hog Roast and Tag Sale!

Parents and Scouts: Please see the attached sign-up sheet for the upcoming Hog Roast and Tag Sale that will take place next weekend during the Arts in the Alley Activity.  We have the following needs.  PLEASE help – whether you in the school bands or not – we need YOU!  Find a time that works. 1.     Each scout is asked to bring 1-2 dozen cookies or brownies for our meals that we will be having on Saturday. [ Plan to have them at the church Friday night or Saturday before 9 am.] 2.     Need help on Hog Roast – both parents and scouts 3.     Need Help on Tag Sale – both parents and scouts 4.     Scouts needed to help carry a large American flag in the parade. 5.     Need help to clean up at the end of the day.  We all will be tired and if we have lots of help then it will go quick.  Plan to help . 6.     Bring your tag sale items either Friday night.  They should be al...

Hog Roast and Tag Sale sign up and poster for your social media

Parents and Scouts: Tomorrow night at our Scout meeting I will have the volunteer help sign up list for the Hog Roast and Tag Sale coming up on September 17 th .  WE NEED HELP! [Both Friday and Saturday].  Any and all time you can spent helping us make this a great fundraiser is appreciated.  We will really appreciate those that can help during the final hours and the clean-up at the end of the event Saturday.  Please look at the attached schedule and see where you can fit in. The scouts will earn money toward their scout accounts for working; parents just get to help.  BOTH Parents and Scouts are needed.  Scouts should wear their Class B [Red] T-shirts for the event.  If they wish to assist in carrying the big American Flag in the Arts in the Alley parade please plan to have your Class A uniform. Parents and Scouts: Please find the below newsletter for September [and permission slip here] .  I have also included the list of those that have signed up for South Bass Island trip, and status of payment.  Please have this paid up on next Tuesday.  I do have a potential “extra” Scout ticket for this event.  If you are not on this list and wish to go please let me know ASAP.  If you have any questions please let me know.
